Being a Libra and born in October, when autumn comes around I feel happiest around at this time of the year. The days get shorter and the nights get longer giving more time to relax by the fire under a cozy blanket with the candles lit. So I figured this is the best theme to start upon for my first blog post.
Pumpkins and squashes are one of my absolute favourite things about autumn. They
look beautiful and come in so many different colours and sizes and the dishes and treats you can make with them are fab! I’m actually writing this as I have a pumpkin roasting in the oven making a yummy pumpkin pasta dish for dinner, courtesy of The Londoner. Pumpkin and sage dish
Seeing everyone’s gorgeous pumpkin patch instagrams inspired me and I was dying to be in a field surrounded by vibrant oranges, greens and yellows. I have to admit the instagram opportunities were also in the back of my mind.

So my best pal, Shauna (bellow), and I took ourselves to Tulley’s Farm which has obviously picked up on the pickin’ trend and started a pick your own field for the first time this year. Tulleys Farm

My friend and I went a little crazy on the pumpkin buying but how could we resist? They’re just so beautiful and seasonal, after all autumn only comes around once a year and I really want to try and make the most of my favourite season.

Between the two of us we bought about five or six pumpkins; everyone must have thought we were two crazy pumpkin ladies. Here she is pretending to be eaten by a pile of pumpkins…

…make of it what you will!
I took plenty of photos of the event so thought I could share all the lovely colours on this little slice of the interweb. It was a gloriously sunny day and we were there at about 4:30 ish so the sun was in the perfect position to sneak its way into most of the photos.

I have to admit I think my heaven is a pumpkin patch, there’s just something so wholesome about it.

And yes, I did choose my most autumnal jacket, I wanted to match the pumpkins. Really living up to that crazy pumpkin lady vibe. Especially in this pic…

…Okay, so it’s not that crazy. Just surprised anyone can look THIS happy about a wheel barrow filled with pumpkins. My pumpkins bring all the boys to the yard… or … field more like.

So that’s it for my introductory blog post, dedicated to autumn and pumpkins. I wasn’t really sure what to write about, but this day was so lovely and festive, it seemed a shame not to share it on my new little corner of the internet.
